The York 7ft Olympic bar, is manufactured in our York Barbell factory in Canada. Made from quality solid North American Steel and then chrome plated it is the ideal Olympic bar for home use.
York has created a nice medium-quality 28.5mm bar at a great price point.
Although this bar has a 500lb static test, that does not factor in the torque during certain exercises. Just to give you an idea, you would probably be okay using this bar for bench press up to 400lbs, deadlift up to 300lbs, and squat up to 300lbs. But if you drop the loaded bar hard on a rack, those estimates are out the window.
This bar is not designed to be dropped with bumper plates.

Warranty
York Barbell have been manufacturing barbells since 1932 to the highest standards. All Olympic bars come with 12 months warranty against manufacturing faults.
Warranty covers structural integrity only, it does not include;
Bending
Normal wear and tear
Rusting
Bars stored with weights loaded on the rack
Bars used outside
Bars not dropped on a suitable flooring (York Lifting Platforms or 30 mm rubber flooring)
Negligent usage or abusive dropping of the bar
Dropping the bar on spotting arms, power rack pins, benches and boxes
Excessive dropping with Iron plates or damaged bumper plate
Only Elite Olympic Competition and Olympic Training Bars should be used for Olympic lifting movements.
Any warranty claim on a York Bar will be reviewed by our quality control team on a case by case basis. Please bear in mind most issues can be traced back to negligent usage rather than any manufacturing or product issue. Please ensure you purchase the correct barbell for your facilities requirements.
